Special Populations and Adaptive Yoga
All bodies and people are unique. In this training, we learn about common injuries, illnesses, and populations that you may encounter as a yoga teacher. We teach you to think outside the box to support your clients with asana and other techniques that impact them in a positive way as opposed to just modifying shapes. We’ll explore new ways to move, and breathe as well as play with prop supports in ways that are fresh and exciting.
-
Yoga for Mobility and Hyper-Mobility
There is no “one size fits all for life,” so why should your practice be? Asana and other yoga techniques exist on a spectrum of intensity; a gentle balance of effort and return to center both physically, and energetically.
In this refinement training, we will focus on how to find the right place on that spectrum for you and your students no matter the day or season of life. We’ll pay special attention to how to meet the needs of students working to increase flexibility while keeping our hyper-mobile students safe and healthy. We will learn methods of communication and cuing that meet people on both ends of the spectrum.
Held at Yoga 8 in Waco, TX.
